Splice 03 : (Techn) (1) a. To join, for example, by interweaving the strands of two ropes to form a single continuous line. b. To double back and interweave the strands of a rope end to prevent the end from raveling, such as a crown splice. c. To inter-weave the end strands of a rope a short distance from the end to form an eye splice. (2) To make such a joint. See: Rope; Line; Thimble
