Sprinkler Head, Sealed :

(1) A device sealing an aperture in a pipe of a sprinkler installation which discharges water automatically in a predetermined pattern over a specified area when it operates on reaching a predetermined temperature. (BS 4422(4)). (2) Bulb type heads discharge water automatically when the glass bulb shatters due to internal pressure on reaching a specified temperature. The glass bulb is filled with liquid which expands as the temperature rises. Solder type heads operate automatically when a soldered strut melts on reaching a specified temperature. Normal rating is 680C (1550F)
