Sub-Surface Injection :
Method for fighting flammable liquid fires by which foam is put into the tank at a point below the burning fuel surfaces. The foam rises to the surface and forms a blanket over the fuel vapour, cooling it and also cutting off the oxygen supply. See: Base Injection
