Sulfreen


Sulfreen : Also known as the SNPA process. A variation of the Claus process for removing hydrogen sulfide from gas streams by reaction with sulfur dioxide to produce elemental sulfur. It differs from the Claus process in using a lower temperature, causing the sulfur to be retained on the catalyst. The catalyst was originally carbon but alumina is used now
