Sulfuric Acid 1 :

(Chem) A corrosive, colorless, odorless mineral acid, H2SO4, fp 10. 50C, bp 3300C i: undiluted form. Water poured into sulfuric acid produces a violene steam explosion. In reaction wit: most metals the acid evolves coabustible hydrogen gas. The acids extremely destructive to skin and eye tissue on contact. Also called: Oil of Vitriol; Vitriolic Acid. Note: Not flammable itself, the acid reacts with many compounds -to produce highly flammable or explosive products. Sulfuric acid fumes or mists are extremely irritating to the upper respiratorytract. High-strength fuming sulfuric acid, called oleum, is yellow and has a sharp odor
