Suppression 01 : (Fire Pr) The sum of all the work done to extinguish a fire from the time of its discovery. Fire extinguishment. Note: A distinction can be made between direct and indirect suppression. Direct suppression includes such actions as cutting off the fresh air supply, flooding with inert gas, and applying water or other extinguishing agents.
