Surface Flash


Surface Flash : Movement of transient flame over the surface of a material without ignition of its basic structure. NOTE 1 If the surface burn occurs simultaneously or sequentially with surface flash, it is not considered as a part of the surface flash. NOTE 2 A surface flash is usually considered to exist for a period of time of less than 1 second. See also: sustained flame and transient ignition
