Suspended Solids 2 :
(n.) Drilling Fluids. Dispersed particles in a slurry that can be separated by filtration and are not dissolved. In the water, oil and solids test (retort test), the retort solids are divided into two types, dissolved and suspended solids. Suspended solids are the particulates. In calculating solids content of water- or oil-base muds, suspended solids are divided into high-gravity and low-gravity solids(HGS and LGS). LGS are sometimes further subdivided into active (clay) and inactive solids.
