System 12 : A composite, at any level of complexity, of personnel, procedures, materials, tools, equipment, facilities, and software. The elements of this composite entity are used together in the intended operational or support environment to perform a given task or achieve a specific production, support, or mission requirement (MIL-STD-882); a set of arrangement of components so related or connected as to form a unity or organic whole. A set of facts, principles, rules, etc. , classified or arranged in a regular, orderly form so as to show a logical plan linking the various parts. A method, plan, or classification. An orderly arrangement of interdependent activities and related procedures which implements and facilitates the performance of a major activity or organization. A set of components, humans or machines or both, which has certain functions and acts and interacts, one in relation to another, to perform some task or tasks in a particular environment or environments. Any configuration of elements in which the behavior properties of the whole are functions of both the nature of the elements and the manner in which they are combined (ASSE)
