System Sensor 1 : System Sensor is a St. Charles, Illinois company involved in the research, development and manufacturing of fire protection products. System Sensor is part of Honeywell Life Safety Group. History: System Sensor was founded in 1984 by the Pittway Corporation to address the unique product requirements of the fire alarm industry. In 1997, System Sensor introduced its SpectrAlert series of notification appliances. In 2006 System Sensor discontinued the SpectrAlert product line in favor of the SpectrAlert Advance Product Line. System Sensor was purchased by Honeywell in the early 2000s, and currently manufactures notification appliances, smoke detectors, waterflow switches, and HVAC monitoring systems
