Technical Assistance (TA) (Object Class 2507) :
A type of Mission Assignment defined as technical expertise provided by the Federal government to State and/or local jurisdictions when the State has the resources, but lacks the knowledge and/or skills needed to perform the work related to the disaster or emergency. TA is 100-percent federally funded but must be requested and approved by the State. Example: A mission assignment issued to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide TA to affected counties in the writing of debris contracts. (FEMA, Mission Assignment, 2007, p.10)
