Avogadro's Hypothesis


Avogadro's Hypothesis : Equal volumes of different gases, at the same pressure and temperature, contain the same number of molecules. (Hence the volume occupied by any gas whose mass is equal numerically to its molecular weight is a constant quantity - e. g. 2 grams of hydrogen, 32 gms oxygen, 44 gms carbon dioxide all occupy 22. 4 litres at N. T. P
