Thermal Conductivity 3 : Parameter related to the rate at which heat flows through a material. NOTE 1 k = (Q. d)/(A. t. . ), where k is the thermal conductivity, Q is the amount of heat that flows in time, t, through a material of thickness, d, and cross-sectional area, A, and which has a temperature difference, across it, and where no heat is exchanged with the surroundings. NOTE 2 The typical units are W. m-1. K-1
