Thermal Lag 1 : "'Thermal lag'" describes a material's thermal mass with respect to time. A material with high thermal mass (high heat capacity and low conductivity) will have a large thermal lag. where L = thickness (m) and ? = Thermal diffusivity (m2/s). (See also: Heat detector)
