Thermistor 2

Thermistor 2 : (ICT) An input sensor. The thermistor is designed to measure temperature. It works because its electrical resistance changes with temperature. So if you put a current through the thermistor, a voltage will be produced that depends on its temperature. Thermistors are often used in electronic equipment to measure the temperature of a component. For example, an audio power amplifier may have thermistors attached to the power transistors. If they get too hot, then they are turned down to cool off a bit. See also: Thermocouple which also measures temperature
