Tidal Volume 3 :

The volume of air inspired or expired during each normal, quiet respiratory cycle. Common abbreviations are tv or v with subscript t. Tidal Volume is the lung volume representing the normal volume of air displaced between normal inhalation and exhalation when extra effort is not applied.
