Tier 5 (MSCC)
Tier 5 (MSCC) : The State-level actions that maximize interstate coordination to support medical surge capacity and capabilities. In the past, interstate coordination generally depended on ad hoc arrangements, goodwill at the time of an incident, and other less-than-predictable mechanisms. This tier focuses on incident management coordination, information sharing and using EMAC and other authorities for mutual aid and cooperative assistance to meet the medical and public health needs of the affected population during emergencies and disasters.
