An indication of the rate a dead fuel gains or loses moisture due to changes in its environment. The time necessary for a fuel particle to gain or lose approximately 63% of the difference between its initial moisture content and its equilibrium moisture content. Fuels are usually grouped into 1-hr; 10-hr; 100-hr; and 1000hr timelag categories
