Back Lash
Back Lash : The ineffective motion between two parts of a mechanism, i. e. the amount of movement which has to occur in one part before it starts to transmit motion to the other. The phenomenon experienced when the reaction condenser of a circuit is increased to just the value at which oscillation occurs but has to be decreased by some finite amount before oscillation ceases.
