Transalkylation : In organic chemistry, any reaction in which an alkyl group is transferred from one molecule to another. In process chemistry the word has a more limited meaning, generally restricted to aromatic rearrangements such as the conversion of toluene to benzene and C8 aromatic hydrocarbons.
