Transportation Management Area (TMA)
Transportation Management Area (TMA) : As defined by TEA-21, a TMA is designated by the Secretary of Transportation for all urbanized areas over 200,000 with boundaries contiguous to that of the MPO. TMAs must include a congestion management system (CMS) in their planning process and are responsible for project selection under the STP program
