Truncation Error

Truncation Error : (1) The error resulting from the approximation of a derivative or differential by a finite difference. The magnitude of the error is always reduced by reducing the interval over which the finite difference is taken; but for a given interval some approximations may be much superior to others. (2) The error resulting from the analysis of a partial set of data in place of the complete or infinite set
