Tsunami 29

Tsunami 29 :

An impulsively generated sea wave of local or distant origin that results from large-scale seafloor displacements associated with large earthquakes, major submarine slides, or exploding volcanic islands. When running into shallow waters near the coast the tsunami wave front, the bore, sometimes piles up the waters 30 m or higher and sweeps up to several km into shallow land. The run-up height strongly depends on coastal profile and shape. Bays and cone-shaped river mouths increase run-up heights
