Before a Tsunami: (D) Know your Plan: (1) to help households and businesses plan for tsunami, and developed a Home Emergency Plan. (2) Home Emergency Plan Checklist (What you need to complete your plan): (a) Your postcode, (b) Knowledge of the geographical location of where you live, e.g. ity/suburb/country/rural, coastal near rivers, tropical etc., (c) The type of residence you live in, (d) Who lives with you, (e) Who else you care for outside of your household, (f) A list of all pets, companion animals and assistance animals living in your household, (g) A list of all animals you own not living on your property, (h) Contact numbers of family, friends and emergency services, (i) Contact numbers of your service providers (electricity, gas and water), (j) Your email address, (k) A willingness to put the plan into action and practice, (l) A waterproof document holder. (3) How to make your Home Emergency Plan? (a) The Home Emergency Plan will ask you a few questions about where you live; (b) These questions will help build a framework for your Home Emergency Plan; (c) You can move backwards or forwards through the builder by clicking on the arrows at the right or left of the main image; (d) Select the appropriate response and move through the Steps to develop your Home Emergency Plan; (e) There are information icons throughout the steps to help you complete your plan; (f) At the end you can email your plan or download a pdf or word version. By downloading a word version, you can customise and edit your plan to suit your home situation; (g) Although the focus of the Home Emergency Plan is on preparing for, responding to and recovering from flood, storm and tsunami, there are referrals throughout the plan to fire related services where you can supplement this plan with fire related plans for your home
