Turbulent Boundary Layer

Turbulent Boundary Layer : The layer in which the Reynolds stresses are much larger than the viscous stresses. When the Reynolds number is sufficiendy high, there is a turbulent layer adjacent to the laminar boundary layer. Turbulent diffusion (or eddy diffusion): The diffusion of a conservative property by eddies in a turbulent flow. See Also: eddy diffusivity
