Uncontained Engine Failure

Uncontained Engine Failure :

An uncontained engine failure is a failure where rotating elements of the engine penetrate the case of the engine. This type of failure can be very serious because pieces from the engine exit the engine at high speeds in directions other than the normal exhaust path , posing potential danger to the aircraft structure and persons within the plane. The FAA and the NTSB will likely investigate any uncontained engine failure involving a transport category aircraft
