Validation (of a Model) :
Process of determining how well the mathematical model's computer representation describes the actual behavior of the physical process under investigation. Mathematical Model: A system of mathematical expressions that describe the spatial and temporal distribution of water quality constituents resulting from fluid transport and the one, or more, individual processes and interactions within some prototype aquatic ecosystem. A mathematical water quality model is used as the basis for waste load allocation evaluations
