Valve, Screened Grid : Electron. A four electrode valve with a cathode next to which is a control grid with a small negative bias, then a screen grid that has high positive bias and is connected to the cathode by a fixed capacitance, and finally, the anode. The screen grid decreases the capacitance between the control grid and anode so that the valve is suitable for H. F. amplification and the Miller effect
