Westinghouse :

A proposed thermochemical process for decomposing water to oxygen and hydrogen by electrolysis, coupled with the high-temperature decomposition of sulfuric acid: 2H2O + SO2 ? H2 + H2SO4; H2SO4 (at 870ºC) ? H2O + SO2 + ½O2. Demonstrated only on the laboratory scale. (Check source for accuracy of chemical formula)
