Base Injection 1
Base Injection 1 : (Fire Pr) Pumping foam or other light extinguishing agent into the lower part of a burning flammable liquid tank. The extinguishant rises to the surface to smother the flame. Air is sometimes used to raise unheated fuel from the bottom of a tank to cool the surface of a burning liquid below its flammability point. Also called: Subsurface Injection See: Foam Injection
