Work Injury 1 : For example, defined in the Queensland Act as: (a) an injury to an employer, self-employed person or worker (a 'person') in the course of doing work that requires first aid or medical treatment; or (b) the recurrence, aggravation, acceleration, exacerbation or deterioration of any existing injury in a person in the course of doing work that requires first aid or medical treatment; and (c) to which the work was a contributing factor to the recurrence, aggravation, acceleration, exacerbation or deterioration. Some States (eg SA) include disease or disability within the definition of work-related injury. South Australia also includes the loss or destruction of, or damage to, an artificial limb or other prosthesis or a medical or surgical aid or appliance, as well as death, that is attributable to work
