Workers' Compensation Board (WCB)
Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) : A division within the Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) responsible for resolving claim disputes between injured workers and insurance carriers. This board of five full-time members administers the Workers' Compensation Division Hearings Division and reviews appealed orders of workers' compensation administrative law judges. It also exercises "own motion" jurisdiction. (See: Own Motion Claim). Board members represent labor, employers, and the public and are appointed by the governor. The Board has its own budget and rule-making authority
