Workspace Envelope 1 : How far someone can reach from a certain position. The preferred workspace envelope, where frequently used controls and tools should be placed is the area a person can reach with the arms hanging down at the sides and the elbows bent to approximately 90 degrees. The maximal workspace envelope is the area that can be reached by the full length of the raised arms
