Worldscale 3 : The New Worldwide Tanker Nominal Freight Scale is a catalogue of theoretical freight rates expressed as US dollars per tonne for most of the conceivable spot voyages in the tanker trade. The final rate agreed will be determined as a percentage of the 'Worldscale' rate, based upon a guaranteed minimum quantity of cargo. This allows for charter parties to cover a wide range of possible voyage options without the need to calculate and negotiate each one separately
