Baseline 04
Baseline 04 : A reference line that lies across a course of travel. Common examples of baselines include roads, footpaths, water channels, fences, and any other similar linear features. Baselines are helpful because they provide a large target for which to aim. Navigators may identify a baseline and then aim off when calculating their bearing. When they reach the baseline they will then know which direction they should walk along the baseline in order to reach their target destination
