Allowance Time
Allowance Time : (1) Time for which an operator is paid in order to meet a guaranteed minimum even though the hours have not been worked; also called pad time, hold time or dead time; and (2) time for which an employee is paid for preparing a bus for service or street relief, obtaining working materials, and returning the bus to the garage at the end of the day; (See also: Time, preparation)
