Altitude Restriction (ALTRV) : (1) (Canada) A restriction to an altitude or altitudes imposed on a flight to ensure that separation criteria are met. (2) (US) An altitude or altitudes, stated in the order flown, which are to be maintained until reaching [sic] a specific point or time. Altitude restrictions may be issued by ATC due to traffic, terrain, or other airspace considerations
