Benchmark 6 : A standard against which planning and management outcomes are compared. Benchmarks may be based on knowledge of ecological processes and functions and their variability (e.g., range of natural variability), on regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., health standards), or on objectives set by local communities and stakeholders (e.g., desired employment level)
