Benefit of Insurance Clause : A clause in the contract of carriage by which the bailee of goods claims the benefit of any insurance policy effected by the cargo owner on the goods in the care of the bailee. If the contract of carriage is subject to the U.S. Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, the clause is void
