Breeching 1 : (Fire Pr; Brit) A type of coupling. a. Collecting breeching: A casting with two inlet hose connections and one outlet connection for supplying one hose line by two others. Also called: Two-in Breeching. Syn: Siamese. b. Control breeching: A breeching fitted with one or more valves to shut off the flow of water. c. Dividing breeching: A fitting used to divide a hose line. Also called: One-into-Two Breeching. Syn: (US) wye. d. Radial breeching: A collecting breeching fitted with nonreturn valves and used with a Radial branch. See: Branch
