Butane 08 : A hydrocarbon gas used as a constituent of gasoline in order to confer improved volatility and anti-knock value. Also used for heating purposes and as a starting material for certain synthetic processes. It can be stored under pressure as a liquid at atmospheric temperatures. By reason of its chemical composition it is classed as a C, hydrocarbon. Used in liquefied petroleum gas form as a domestic fuel
