Casualty bureau 1 : (N.B. The term casualty is used to refer to anyone directly involved in an incident including those who may be uninjured.) In the event of a major emergency the Police may set up a casualty bureau This provides a central point of contact for those seeking or providing information about persons who may have been involved in the incident. The telephone number, for the bureau, will be published through the media. It is essential that all enquiries to the Council, concerning individuals, are referred to the Casualty Bureau. No information on persons involved in the incident is to be given out by any Council staff
