Catastrophe 21 : "In the English speaking world a differentiation is sometimes made between disaster and catastrophes. In the latter, most or all people living in a community are affected, as are the basic supply centers, so that help from neighbours is largely impossible (the affected people helping each other is a general phenomenon in disasters with a lower degree of severity)".
