Cocarcinogen 5 : Oncology. A substance that works symbiotically with a carcinogen in the production of cancer. A helper in the role of a carcinogen. A substances that, though not carcinogenic in its own right, potentiates the activity of a carcinogen. They differ from tumour promotors in requiring to be present concurrently with the carcinogen.
