Coda 1
Coda 1 : The "tail" of a seismic signal, which follows a well defined wave arrival. For example, the teleseismic P-coda follows the arrival of teleseismic P waves. Coda waves are due to scattering and superposition of multi-path arrivals, with usually exponentially decaying amplitudes (e.g., Figs. 2.40 and 2.41??? in Chapter 2, Figs. 4.34 and 4.35 ??? in Chapter 4, and Figure 1b in DS 11.1, all in this Manual, and Kulhanek (2002, p. 333-334)
