Collector 2 : (Techn) A device for removing particulates from a gas stream. Note: Bag type: A filter in which the filtering medium is a cylindrical fabric bag. Cyclone: A collector in which an inlet gas stream is made to move vertically; its centrifugal forces tend to drive suspended particles to the wall of the cyclone. Mechanical: A device in which inertial and gravitaticnal forces separate dry dust from gas. Multicyclone: A dust collector consisting of a number of cyclone collectors that operate in parallel; the volume and velocity of combustion gas can be regulated by dampers to maintain efficiency over a given load range
