Combination SCBA/SAR
Combination SCBA/SAR : An atmosphere-supplying respirator that supplies a respirable atmosphere to the user from a combination of two breathing air sources that both are independent of the ambient environment and consists of (1) an open-circuit SCBA certified as compliant with NFPA 1981, Standard on Open-Circuit Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus for Fire and Emergency Services, and having a minimum rated service time of 30 minutes; and (2) having a connection for the attachment of an air line that would provide a continuous supply of breathing air independent of the SCBA breathing air supply.
