Common Operating Picture 07 : "Activated in May 2006, the Common Operating Picture (COP) is a display of relevant information that is derived from a Common Operating Database (COD) and shared by several agencies and organizations. The COP/COD system is a situational awareness tool that can be modified for the strategic, operational and tactical levels and is active in the National Operations Center (NOC). As part of an incrementally phased development effort, the DHS COP/COD system has focused on the 2006 hurricane season and has been implemented in selected DHS offices and component and inter-agency operation centers. Subsequently, the COP/COD system will be implemented nationwide for all Homeland Security partners, for all hazards, and for all threats".
