Community-Based Social Marketing (CBSM) 1 : A form of social marketing that mphasizes direct contact among community members and the systematic removal of structural and other barriers to action (like unsafe pathways or a lack of shower facilities). CBSM also uses a set of "tools" (like prompts or obtaining a commitment) which have been identified as particularly effective in bringing about change; while each of these tools can promote changes in travel behaviours on its own under the right conditions, they are most effective when used together
