Completely Mixed Condition


Completely Mixed Condition :

A condition in which no measurable difference in the concentration of a pollutant exists across a transect of the waterbody (e.g., the concentration does not vary by 5 percent). Concentration: Amount of a substance or material in a given unit volume of solution; usually measured in milligrams per liter (mg/L) or parts per million (ppm). Pollutant: Dredged spoil, solid waste, incinerator residue, sewage, garbage, sewage sludge, munitions, chemical wastes, biological materials, radioactive materials, heat, wrecked or discarded equipment, rock, sand, cellar dirt and industrial, municipal, and agricultural waste discharged into water. (CWA Section 502(6))
